Hollyn's First Dental Checkup
We were thrilled to have a great checkup for Sadie and a lovely first appointment for Hollyn. Hollyn received a little squeaky giraffe as her reward for "being so brave." She was too funny in the big chair!

Magical Mystery Stroller
Hollyn had her first go at a stroller ride today. After almost exclusively babywearing, I'm sure she was wondering what the heck this voodoo magic was! She pulled off her sunnies and played with those and her crinkle star for one quick "up and down" the block. I think it's a hit!

Sadie's First Journal
Sadie has been adjusting beautifully to being a big sister so I thought it high time to celebrate her great behavior and have a little mommy daughter date. I gave her a few options and she selected going to get pedicures together. She wanted ruby red Dorothy toes and picked up gold glitter for me.
We took a quick selfie after our pedicures and then headed to Barnes & Noble for her to pick out her very first journal! This is considered a momentous occasion for a former teacher. I can still remember my first journal I ever had. It was beige with a little teddy bear on the front and had a combination lock on it side. I thought it was so exciting to be able to have a place to keep all my thoughts and still to this day and assist with holding, touching, and by the journal after journal.
She walked up to the Barnes & Noble cashier herself and put it on the counter. She looked at the employee probably told him, "I'm buying my first journal today." He seemed delighted for her and told her as she walked away, "I hope you enjoy writing in it!" She responded back rather loudly, "THANKS! I WILL!"

We took a quick picture of her holding up her my little pony journal. She was very excited about that one because it came with a lock on the side and key. The first think she would about was our pedicures. She drew picture of her red toes and mommy all the toes. Then later, after trying for a picnic on our new playset, she'll chew a picture and had me write about our picnic with mosquitoes.
What a beautiful start to literacy!
