After feasting on Over the Rainbow cupcakes and Wizard of Oz cake, it was time to let the real-life munchkins have their picture taken with our Wizard of Oz characters. Gammy taped up a bright green backdrop to add some color to the munchkin photo shoots! All of Sadie's little friends seemed to enjoy having their pictures taken and it was a nice touch to an already wonderful celebration for little Sadie.

After many people filed out and moved onto other activities that day, some family remained - along with our good friends, Bill and Sara. We were thrilled to watch Sadie go through all of her presents. However, before that started, she took the time to wave her Glenda the Good Witch wand beneficently over all her guests - exclaiming "Poof" with every shake. Everyone played along and as she shouted, "Pooooof!" various family members would fall backwards into their respective seats, giggling or squealing at Sadie's "magic spells." Aunt Katie and Austin were especially funny - with Uncle Austin making crazy faces and Aunt Katie shaking enough to send her golden locks bouncing. We could tell Sadie enjoyed them, because they kept getting "poofed," whether they liked it or not!

Sadie quickly grew tired from all that poofing and settled down to what seemed like an endless supply of neatly wrapped packages for her to tear into with her toddler hands. She received books, stuffed animals, movies, pink boots, outfits, aprons, toys, and bows! What a blessed little girl to have so many people in her life who love her.

With everyone gone, we just sat back and looked around Oz, amazed that our little girl was already two. How could this have happened so fast? How could we be the parents of a toddler? A growing little girl? We knew we would be parents one day, but for that time to be here, it seems almost surreal at moments. This is it. This is the time we have looked forward to and James and I are so in love with our little Sadie. Sadie, happy birthday to you. We cannot wait to keep celebrating with you every year and watch you grow into a loving, brilliant, and Christ-centered young lady.
