For Memorial Day, we decided to have a relaxing day at home with family and friends. So we cut up some fruit, invited people over and prepared to just enjoy one another's company. One of the coolest events of the day was Granddaddy and Gammy giving Sadie my old table from when Austin and I were little! We played, colored, painted, and such and to see the look on Sadie's face when she saw her new table for the first time was absolutely wonderful. She wanted everyone to take a turn sitting at the table with all her friends and family visiting.
Sadie also had another wonderful present that came from Bill and Sara! They picked some beautiful roses off of their bushes at home, and Sadie loved them. she pushed her nose past the petals and breathed out, then breathed in their fresh scent. She looked at me and said, "Oh! They smell so gooooood! Beautiful! Thank you, Bill and Sara (Sar-wa)." Love that. She then posed with her pretty flowers and continued showing them off to everyone who was interested in the slightest smell.
After playing inside for a bit we went outside and listened to Uncle Steve play banjo while Granddaddy played guitar. Sadie decided to treat us all to a dress-up show by dawning her Snow White outfit that Gammy bought for her. She paraded around the yard showing everyone her beautiful outfit. I adored the little smiles from her as she watched all of us watch her.
One of our final excitements of the night was singing "Happy Birthday" to Bill right before eating a delicious peanut butter cake that Katy E. had made! Yum Yum! What a delightful day to spend with family appreciating the little moments in life together!
