Pre-Easter Egg Hunt with Su Su & Poppy

Ready to hunt eggs!
Since Su Su and Poppy will be visiting Sadie's Uncle Ryan and Auntie Jordan in Ft. Worth for Easter, we decided to celebrate early. After Poppy returned from the lease, we raced over to their house to watch Sadie hunt eggs. When we arrived there were several goodies (a ducky and little wind-up hopping bunny) hidden in James' Easter egg basket from when he was a little boy. What a special basket for Sadie to use. After saying hello to the dogs, Rascal and Rusty, with her regular salutation, "woo woo," we headed for the front yard to hunt eggs. Sadie found strawberry puffs hidden inside each of the small plastic pastel eggs and two larger antique eggs had little wind-up toys inside - a waddling penguin and jumping froggy to be exact.
Sadie's new bunny and ducky
Sadie looked like a veteran egg-hunter as she ran all over the yard in her beautiful outfit Su Su gave her. Along with her cute outfit, Sadie dawned pigtails for the first time in her life! YAY! So, bows won't work, but apparently we have better luck with pigtails! Who knew?

Do twigs and leaves count for this hunt?
Here's a puff for you, Poppy!

Hurry, Poppy! Wind up the froggy!

 Look at all my goodies!
After feeding Poppy some of her puffs and playing with her wind-up toys, she sat on the front step to survey her loot. We then went back inside for a lovely dinner. Afterwards, Poppy even played some 60s music for Sadie. She loves to dance and we certainly enjoyed watching her get down. How crazy that just last year she had to be held the whole time and she has blossomed into a little girl so very fast.

  1. So cute!! I just LOVE the pigtails! Ryan has the same wind up bunny and a wind up chick too that I gave him at the beginning of the month the chick is already broken... lol not sure if it's his or the cat's fault bc Toby also loved that thing. He gets the bunny on Easter with his other goodies from Mom and Dad. :)
