Easter morning was so exciting for Sadie. Although this was her second Easter, she wasn't exactly able to hunt eggs for her first. We were overjoyed to watch her as she slowly realized there were two baskets filled with toys in the living room! She walked up to the first basket on the right and immediately exclaimed, "bubbles!" We blew some bubbles and then she played with the rest of the toys. One of our favorite gifts in her basket was a little red AM/FM radio in the shape of a Lego. She turned it on and off and seemed to love it.

After rummaging through her goodies, we went outside in our front yard to hunt for eggs. Mia accompanied us as Sadie hunted for little plastic eggs filled with cheerios and raisins. There were 12 eggs and she made it to 6 before getting full on the goodies inside. Even Mia got in on the fun as Sadie dropped a few for her to enjoy.

After hunting eggs, we got ready for church and headed over to Granny's house to drop off Great Granny's birthday cake. We took some quick pictures of us all dressed up for the day of celebration:

After church we went to pick Sadie up from the nursery. This is how we found her; it was an Easter miracle considering she hasn't slept in her crib since she was an infant, but apparently the church crib is magic. As I told James, "Well, He is risen, but she's asleep." hahaha

After church we went to eat at Zio's and then headed to Granny and Granddaddy's to hunt eggs and celebrate Great Granny's birthday (it was on Thursday the 21st). She turned 83. We gave her silver and pearl earrings that Susan made and she also received a pair of earrings from Susan that were very special. They had stones that were in earrings that belong to Susan's mother. What a special gift. Great Granny was so pleased with them.

After cake we enjoyed watching Sadie hunt for eggs, watch other kids play on the greenbelt and even take a little walk up and down the greenbelt sidewalk. How fun to be old enough to enjoy the day with family! She even took her dolly for a ride in her buggy outside with Granddaddy

As exciting as this Easter Sunday was, an even greater surprise came when our close friends, Ross and Katy called us to relay the good news that Katy was in labor with their baby boy. After all the Easter festivities, Sadie stayed and played with Granny and Granddaddy so James and I could go to the hospital to meet little Collin Matthew (pictures of him on a separate post just for him!). What a special Easter delivery. What an Easter to remember - filled with joy and new life!
