Welcome, Collin Ernst!

Collin Matthew Ernst
While many families anticipated the arrival of the Easter bunny, my close friend, Katy, anxiously awaited the arrival of her first child. We got the news as we left for church that her water had broken early in the morning and they were already in the hospital. We were so excited during church we could hardly sit still. After finding out from Ross, her sweet husband, that she was still laboring, we continued on with lunch and Easter festivities and waited for more good news. After hunting eggs, we checked our texts and realized that he would arrive any moment. Sure enough, at about 5:10PM, he entered the world - Mr. Collin Matthew Ernst. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/2 in long.
Sleeping Collin
James and I called Ross while on the greenbelt with Sadie and when given the OK, we rushed up to the hospital. We arrived and went to see Collin in the nursery first. We even were privileged to ride with him down the elevator to Katy's room at The Women's Hospital. She looked beautiful as she took hold of her firstborn little son. What an honor to be a part of their special day. I teared up seeing Katy and we listened to the exciting birth story as Collin slept soundly. I ended up going back again on Monday (my excitement couldn't be contained!) and visited some more. What a grand adventure ahead. We are so excited to have had them join the "parenthood club" and look forward to play dates and laughter together as we both work to reveal Christ to our children through the joy of parenting. Congratulations, Katy and Ross. We love you and love little Collin too.
